Western Carwash Association Roadshow Tours Build on Success!

The WCA’s new Roadshow program is has seen phenomenal growth in its first year. From an Inaugural Tour in Arizona to the follow up in Colorado earlier this month, attendance increased by 133%! Over 140 operators and vendors participated in a tour of five carwashes and three manufacturing sites in Denver and the surrounding area.

Our tour kicked off with registration and a full breakfast at the Hi-Performance Wash Systems factory in Denver. Mrs. Wells’s homemade muffins were served along with breakfast burritos, Krispy Kreme donuts, and Starbucks coffee. Our bellies full and our bags heavy with free gifts from the Tour Sponsors, we crossed the street to check out the brand new Eco Express Car Wash. This express exterior wash features a 130’ tunnel and was designed for high volume, high profit traffic.

Once we had finished riding through the wash and admiring the Vacutech vacuum bays, attendees loaded onto three buses and headed up to Thornton to see a high-performing branded car wash franchise – Grease Monkey’s “Monkey Shine” car wash. Built in 2009, the combination wash/lube center provides a one-stop shop for customer’s preventative car maintenance needs.

Our caravan’s next destination was The Glo Car Wash, a test facility featuring the latest in Mark VII innovation, in Arvada. First we saw the latest Mark VII equipment in action, then we headed over to the factory itself. Mark VII provided a full BBQ lunch and “behind-the-scenes” look at their manufacturing floor for all.

After lunch we visited A Better Carwash in Arvada. A new location with 4 Self Serve bays and 3 In-Bay Automatics, the highlight was a close up look at solar panels installed on the roof. Afternoon refreshments were a hit at the Vacutech factory tour. We rounded off the day with a visit to Waterway, a full-service operation with a 120’ foot conveyor, Conoco Gas Station, and C-store.
